Task 4: Hifi
- use 3 colours in general only in 6:3:1
- don't use plain white/ black, user's eyes will get tired
- user don't read in mobile apps, they scan through, make it scannable by introducing less big contrast of font size
- make the button size from 40pt to 60pt, easy to click.
- drop shadows for clickable button only, with same colour/ complementary colour of the button box
- utilize the spaces
- round corners are more friendly, make used of the corner radius
- place icons inside a box (24pt*24pt)
- give sub text for icons
- make the images colour align with the colour palette
- utilize the images to lead user's focus
- use illustrations to double and emphasize the meaning of the text
- create card components to adapt to smaller sizing, consider the different text length
- font size make it at least 16px
- create styles (preset) so that we don't need to change the element's colour/effect one by one
- homepage
- reduce the map scale
- profile page should be less visible, not in line with public transport and my trip section
- public transport and my trips section can be after the search bar, in a more visible way
my trip- save trip button caption to create a new trip
- add an icon (like star) in plan journey to save the trip
profile- add saved trips and saved lines in profile
This is the first time I have been involved in a long application development process, and I would say that the experience was challenging but also very meaningful. The process was long and not always easy, especially during the pre-design stages such as market research and user research. However, these stages were really useful because they helped my design go beyond my own assumptions and allowed me to make decisions based on actual user needs and insights. This project has helped me prepare myself for a real development process in the future. It taught me that designing an application is not only about knowing how to use Figma or creating visually appealing interfaces. The research, testing, and improvement processes are equally important in providing the foundation for creating a better user experience.
One thing I would like to improve from this project is the UI design and the use of design principles. I believe the overall interface can still be refined by improving consistency, visual hierarchy, and the way different elements are presented.
