Reflection

In this assignment, I was introduced to the concept of composition, which opened my eyes to how visual arrangement can guide the viewer’s attention. I learned that a well-planned composition doesn’t just make an artwork look good—it directs the focus and enhances storytelling. For example, I experimented with arranging and curving vector shapes so that the tree elements naturally framed the door, creating a visual flow that draws the viewer inward and adds a sense of movement and depth to the scene.

One area I see room for improvement is in the use of colour contrast, particularly in defining the foreground, mid-ground, and background. Stronger contrast would help create better visual separation between layers, making the composition clearer and more immersive. Paying closer attention to depth through colour could significantly enhance the overall impact of the piece.
